testing out blogging - 2024/10/19

been thinking about setting up a blog on my website so i get to dump my thoughts about things. i never really felt compelled to do so on social media. why?

i had initially set up my neocities as a convenient way to host links to platforms i'm on. this is due in large part due to the overall state of social media nowadays... every other week it feels like a new site pops up or a pre-existing one does something stupid that causes a mass exodus of users. i don't know which ones to sign up for anymore, and having to hop between websites and repost all of my art every time gets tiring.

i was content to maybe just have links to websites i'm on, maybe an archive of my art, and potentially have commission prices and TOS there (assuming i ever open comms?). but i figured it wouldn't hurt to have a place where i can dump my thoughts on various things. it'll get me some extra mileage out of my website, if anything.

and i can do stuff like this. wide text

setting up the website as a whole has been surprisingly fun though! it's been a neat exercise in learning HTML and CSS. it finally gave me an excuse to do so... things are still under construction so you might see things change periodically.

anyway, that's it for today's rambling. thanks for reading!
